About the Speaker

Marcus Nel Marius Nel is the founder and CEO of 360 Smart Networks. As CEO he has ultimate responsibility and accountability to achieve the goals set for the organization.

Marius holds a Mechanical Engineering degree and a multitude of IT industry-specific certifications including an MCSE, CCNP, and CCDP. Since starting 360 Smart Networks in 2003 Marius has been instrumental in growing the company from a single member concern, working out of his apartment, to a multi-national organization with more than 50 employees generating revenue in excess of 10 Million dollars.

What makes 360 Smart Networks remarkable is not that more than 70% of its revenue is recurring but the fact that this is achieved without the need for long-term contracts. In fact, 360 Smart Networks still has the very first customer it ever signed up with. At present, the organization is the primary IT service provider to a select group of US companies consisting of 80 companies, 400 sites, 6000 users with combined annual revenues of approximately 4 billion dollars.

According to Marius, the secret to achieving these results is actually very simple. “Always do the right thing, regardless of the consequences, or cost”. You do the right thing, not only for clients but also for 360 employees and vendors. He has an uncompromising view of quality in all things IT and is a firm believer that the right tool for the job is an absolute requirement for doing it, regardless of the cost. He has a passionate belief that businesses survive and thrive, only if all stakeholders are being taken care of.
