Jim Barner, GAR Region 1 Director
About the Speaker
Jim is a proud veteran of the United States Army where he served as a Criminal Investigator in the United States Army. He continued his law enforcement career with the Cobb County Police Department where he was honored to be Police Officer.
Jim started his real estate career in 1981 as a homebuilder and residential developer. He was licensed as a salesperson in 1994. In 1998 Jim earned his GRI designation and Associate Brokers license. He achieved his CRS in 2002. Jim has continued his real estate education by earning his ABR, CDPE and SFR designations. Jim is currently an Associate Broker at RE/MAX Unlimited in Kennsaw, GA.
Jim is a member of the Northwest Metro Association of REALTORS® and Cobb Association of REALTORS®. He has served on the board of directors for both Associations and as their RPAC Chairperson.
Jim also serves on the Georgia Association of REALTORS® Executive Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, Public Relations Committee. He is the 2018 Graduate REALTOR® Institute - Dean and has served on the Board of Governors for 6 years. He has previously served on the State and Local Governmental Affairs, Professional Development and Professional Standards Committees.
He currently serves as the District 11 RPAC Trustee, District 11 Federal Political Coordinator – Alternate for Congressman Barry Loudermilk and Georgia Association of REALTIORS Region® 1 Director.
Jim is married to his wonderful wife and real estate partner, Angela Barner. Angela and Jim are the proud parents of their son Paschal, who is graduated from the University of Georgia and University of South Carolina Law School.
